Unleavened Communion Bread

This is better than it should be.

Ingredients

  • 180 ml scalded milk (3/4 c)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 85 g honey (1/4 c)
  • 288 g flour (2 1/4 c)
  • 57 g butter, melted (1/4 c)
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Beat milk, honey, and butter together.
  2. Add the egg. Beat together.
  3. Gradually add 2 1/4 cups of flour and the salt. The dough will be sticky.
  4. Put a large silicone mat or parchment paper on baking sheet.
  5. If using parchment, flour the parchment.
  6. Pour dough onto silicone mat, and use silicone spatula to spread it as evenly as possible.
  7. Bread dough will be very sticky! If it’s rollable, flour the surface, rolling pin, and dough to keep from sticking.
  8. Bake at 190°C (375°F) degrees for 15 or 20 minutes.
