- 1 cup butter
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Line a 9×13 baking pan with foil. Butter foil with 1 T.
- Sprinkle with pecans & chocolate chips. Set aside
- In heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt remaining butter.
- Add brown sugar, corn syrup & water.
- Cook & stir until mixture comes to a boil.
- Stir in sweetened condensed milk.
- Cook, stirring constantly until candy thermometer reads 248°F / 120°C (firm-ball stage).
- Pour into prepared pan (do not scrape saucepan)
- Cool completely before cutting.
